After days of Internet speculation, Beyoncé, Jay-Z and Solange have finally released a statement about their infamous elevator scuffle.

"Beyonce, Jay-Z, and Solange say they have moved forward as a united family since a video leaked showing Solange attacking Jay-Z in a New York City elevator." (Via E!)

"At the end of the day families have problems and we're no different. We love each other, and above all we are family. We've put this behind us and hope everyone else will do the same." (Via ABC)

The statement follows days of fevered Internet speculation surrounding this video obtained by TMZ, which seems to show Beyoncé's sister Solange attacking Jay-Z in an elevator after they both attended the Met Gala on May 5.

The brief statement released to the Associated Press says Jay-Z and Solange have both taken responsibility for the incident, they've apologized, and moved on. It also says Solange wasn't drunk at the time. And that's ... about it, really.

As one Buzzfeed writer noted, the statement was a little underwhelming. (Via Twitter /@MattBellassai)

But Hollywood Life talked to one image specialist who said the statement did its job and broke the silence surrounding the issue. "Speculation was only going to increase had they not released a statement. ... The longer the silence went on, 'the more damage to them and their brand.'"

And while the official statement might be a little light on details, Beyoncé and Solange did leave a few more clues for eagle-eyed fans. The sisters both recently posted photos of their younger selves hanging out on Instagram, which many people have interpreted as a sign of reconciliation.

The Standard Hotel, where the security camera footage of the fight was taken, released a statement late Wednesday saying the employee responsible for leaking the video has been fired, and they are considering legal action.
