Charlottesville, Virginia, police say remains found this weekend are those of missing 18-year-old University of Virginia student Hannah Graham.

Volunteers found human remains on abandoned property in a local park around noon Saturday. The Medical Examiner confirmed the remains were that of Graham.

Graham was last seen on surveillance videos from the early morning hours of Sept. 13 after a night out with friends.

Following her disappearance, thousands participated in the search for her.

The sole suspect in her disappearance, Jesse Matthew, has been charged with abduction and attempt to defile Graham.

Authorities say surveillance video shows Matthew with Graham the night she disappeared and that he bought her a drink, even though she was underage.

Police also say DNA evidence links Matthew to the 2009 murder of Morgan Harrington, a Virginia Tech student.

Authorities say they're working around the clock to investigate and collect evidence for Graham's case.
