More than a month after his family announced his death, the late radio icon's body is missing — this, according to his daughter.
A spokesperson for Kerri Kasem told ABC Friday, his body is no longer at the Washington state funeral home where it was being kept under his second wife, Jean Kasem's, control.
Kerri's rep told the Los Angeles Times the situation is "...pure insanity... It's sad that it's gotten to this point."
The owner of the mortuary confirmed to Access Hollywood Kasem's body had not been in his care for at least two days. He refused to divulge any more details.

But Kerri told the New York Daily News Friday, the order was granted too late. "My stepmother is doing everything to keep my father’s burial a secret so that none of his loved ones can visit. She’s just spiteful, malicious and vindictive."
But Jean Kasem is singing a different tune. She told CNN Friday her husband's body isn't missing and asked the outlet to "let us grieve in peace."
Bad blood between Jean and Kasem's children from his first marriage led to several legal battles and court hearings before his June 15 death.

But after Kasem's death, Kerri's conservatorship ended, and Jean was given authority over his body. And now, sources claim Jean took the body from the funeral home the day before a judge ordered her to keep it there so an autopsy could be performed.
As TMZ points out, that autopsy will be an important piece of evidence in the ongoing criminal investigation against Jean.
Police are looking into allegations that Jean removed Kasem from a care facility in Santa Monica and took him on a cross-country road trip to stay with family friends in Washington before he died. (Via The Wrap)
Casey Kasem died at age 82 after battling a form of dementia. An attorney for Jean Kasem has yet to comment on the current situation.
