In a furry twist to an already bizarre case, the 4-year-old cat who made headlines for trapping an Oregon family in their bedroom — will be receiving therapy.
"The 22-pound housecat attacked a 7-month-old child after the baby pulled its tail. ... On a 911 call, Palmer told the dispatcher he kicked the cat to protect the baby and the cat went over the edge."
"They had to call 911 to ask for help, subduing the cat so they could get out. Officers used a dog snare to capture the cat named Lux."
Yes, you heard that correctly. The cat ... WENT OVER THE EDGE. Its owners called 911. And now, kitty needs a couch session. But an employee with county animal services told KGW-TV Lux's response was normal.
"Whenever a small animal feels threatened, they have to put on a very big display to make sure that the thing they perceive as the threat will stay away."
Still, there are such things pet psychics and therapists out there — maybe they'd help?
The host of Animal Planet's "My Cat From Hell" does dub himself a "cat listener."
"The couple says they will take it to the vet to make sure there's nothing wrong with the animal ... do cats respond to pet therapy?"
Ultimately, the family says this may all sound silly — but you'll feel differently if you get cornered by your cat.
