The teaser for the new "Star Wars" film is here, and it's got it all: flashy space battles, fan-favorite characters, and the now-obligatory opening shot of a main character gasping for breath.
But the most teasing part of the teaser is the very last line.
Luke Skywalker says, "It's time for the Jedi to end."
It seems as though he's turning his back on the mystical order he worked so hard to join in the original films.
And the film's title, "Star Wars: The Last Jedi," isn't exactly reassuring, either. The end of the Jedi could throw the franchise's central morality struggle into chaos.
But this is just one out-of-context line in a teaser — we do see Luke giving the film's protagonist Rey some traditional Jedi training, after all.
It's possible Luke's comments just reflect some internal angst about the Jedi, something actor Daisy Ridley may have hinted at when the teaser was first revealed.
Ridley told the audience: "Rey has a certain expectation as to what she might want from Luke. ... It's difficult when you meet your heroes because it might not be what you expect."
