New details about the horrifying school stabbing attack near Pittsburgh two weeks ago show that the suspect could have planned the attack days in advance.
According to the police complaint obtained by NBC, 16-year-old suspect Alex Hribal wrote a chilling note hinting at his plans, dated three days before the April 9 attack. The note, found in Hribal's locker, in part reads, "I can't wait to see the priceless and helpless looks… their precious lives are going to be taken by the only one among them that isn't a plebian."
Additionally, according to the complaint, Hribal refused to drop his two kitchen knives after being tackled by assistant principal Sam King, saying "No, I am not dropping them, my work is not done, I have more people to kill." (Via KDKA)
The revelations come amid news that Pittsburgh police will upgrade Hribal’s charges from four to 21 counts of attempted murder, one for each person wounded in the attack at Franklin Regional High School. (Via WPXI)
It all paints an even more disturbing picture of one of the worst school stabbing attacks in history, an attack that left students bleeding and confused.
"I was walking over to the exit and there was blood all over the floor. I thought someone had a nosebleed or something. And someone yelled that she got stabbed." (Via NBC)
Two students remain hospitalized with one, 15-year-old Greg Keener, still in critical condition. Student Derek Jones, released from the hospital on Wednesday, says Hribal’s targets were seemingly random.
He told the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, "After I was stabbed, I saw he moved over here and over there and it seemed like it was just anyone.”
Hribal remains held without bail at an area juvenile detention center.
