Ninety-three-year-old Washington state man Bill Flowers didn't know what to do when his dog brought home a human leg.

FLOWERS: "I examined it. I picked it up."

REPORTER: "Flowers says it was gray in color and appears it was dismembered about four inches from the buttocks." (Via CNN)

Flowers' dog Liberty dragged the gruesome find home. It was partly skeletal but the local coroner says some tissue was attached. (Via WBFF)

Not knowing what do do at first, Flowers buried the leg in his backyard.

"I thought, 'Should I call the police? I thought, 'Naw, I should bury it.'"

It wasn't until a couple days later, on Saturday, that he called police at the encouragement of his daughter.  (Via WJW)

And that's when authorities discovered more.

"Now police dogs have uncovered a rib cage, a pelvis and skull fragments. Deputies say they don't know the age or gender of the body, and they're treating it as a homicide investigation." (Via KIRO)

KOMO reports Liberty's initial find was made on the local Native American Nisqually Reservation and authorities are checking missing persons and runaway reports in their investigation.
