Dozens of people are dead after a suicide bomb attack at an election rally in southwest Pakistan.

Officials told reporters at least 85 people were killed and more than 100 more were injured in Friday's attack. And the death toll was expected to rise because many of the wounded were in critical condition.

Authorities say the bombing took place as a candidate in the upcoming general elections addressed his supporters. He was killed the the blast. 

The elections are scheduled to take place July 25.
