Families are demanding answers after a fire in a Venezuelan jail killed at least 68 people

The fire reportedly started after prisoners set fire to mattresses during a riot at the jail in the city of Valencia. Multiple outlets report families haven't been told whether their relatives are among the dead.

Police officers used tear gas to break up groups of family members trying to get information outside the jail.

The attorney general Tarek William Saab tweeted late Wednesday there will be an investigation into the cause of the blaze. 

He also said two of the victims were women visiting the jail overnight and that the other 66 victims were men.
