How To Protect Your Data From The NSA

End-to-end encryption, private browsing, PGP keys — these are things everyone should know about.

Here's how to protect your information from the National Security Agency.

First, make sure whatever you're using for texting has end-to-end encryption.

This ensures no one can see the texts aside from you and whomever you're talking to.

Also useful: encrypting emails. The best way to do that is by setting up a PGP key.

Similar to end-to-end encryption — with PGP only the person you're sending an email to will be able to see what's inside that email.

When it comes to browsing, Tor is your best bet. While it's pretty easy to set up — you only need to download it — accessing "deep web" sites requires special URLs.

All of this is optional — but, really, you can never be too cautious when it comes to privacy.
