Huawei Sues FCC Over New Restrictions

Chinese tech giant Huawei is once again suing the U.S. government — this time over the Federal Communications Commission's new restrictions. 

The FCC's order bans U.S. companies from using federal funds to buy equipment and services from companies that "pose a national security threat." 

Huawei and other Chinese tech companies like ZTE have been widely blacklisted by the U.S. government over fears that they could provide a vector for espionage by the Chinese government.

In its lawsuit, Huawei says the FCC ban is unlawful because it violates the company's right to due process. It also argues that the U.S. hasn't been able to prove its claim that Huawei poses a threat to security.

Huawei launched a similar legal challenge earlier this year against the U.S. government for prohibiting federal agencies and their contractors from purchasing or using Huawei products. A judge has yet to rule on that case.
