Florida State will be missing its Heisman-winning quarterback for the first half of its conference-opener this Saturday against Clemson.

The superstar quarterback reportedly stood on a table in Florida State's student union and yelled an obscene phrase. The phrase in question comes from an Internet meme that went viral back in May.

"I'm not a 'me' person but in that situation that was a selfish act and that's not how you do things around here." (Video via Warchant.com)

The university also released a statement regarding the incident which said in part, "As the university's most visible ambassadors, student-athletes at Florida State are expected to uphold at all times high standards of integrity and behavior."

A pretty large response to what's basically a simple college prank. But as many have noted, Jameis Winston is a pretty big deal.

Winston is the reigning Heisman trophy winner, a national champion and quarterback for the top-ranked team in the nation. But he also can't seem to stay out of national headlines for one reason or another.

There are the smaller incidents, like allegedly stealing soda from a Burger King.

And the more serious headlines, like the alleged sexual assault of an FSU student and the potentially botched investigation by local law enforcement into that case.

Which has lead many to conclude, college kid or not, Winston should know better.

"Given Winston’s history, this should be something that Winston should have thought about to himself and say 'You know what, maybe this is in poor taste.'"

While Winston was not charged by the Tallahassee Police Department in its sexual assault investigation, Florida State University has opened its own investigation into his alleged misconduct in 2012. Winston was not suspended any amount of time for that case.
