Thousands of pounds of Jimmy Dean meat products have been recalled after customers reported finding metal inside them.

The USDA said in a press release Monday CTI Foods LLC is recalling more than 29,000 pounds of Jimmy Dean Heat 'n Serve Original Sausage Links Made with Pork & Turkey.

A note on Jimmy Dean's website said multiple consumers told CTI they discovered "small, string-like fragments of metal" in the product.

The company says the fragments were found in a very limited number of packages, but it decided to issue the recall out of an abundance of caution. No injuries or illnesses in connection to the products have been reported.
