The judge says the issue should be up to Congress to decide.

A federal judge said Thursday it wasn't his place to decide if President Donald Trump had violated the Constitution's emoluments clause.

The judge dismissed a lawsuit that alleged the president benefits when his properties do business with foreign governments. He said Congress needs to consider the issue first and prevent emoluments violations if it sees any.

But this isn't the only lawsuit of its kind out there. One was filed by a group of Democrats in Congress, and the other was filed by the attorneys general of Maryland and Washington, D.C.
