One hundred retweets on Twitter, that's all one California man asked for in exchange to shoot someone. He's now sitting in a jail cell.

Los Angeles police arrested 20-year-old Dakkari McAnuff after he allegedly tweeted a picture of a rifle pointing at the street saying he'd shoot someone walking down the street if he was able to get 100 retweets. (Via KABC)

Shortly after sending out that tweet, he posted another tweet saying "Man Down. Mission Completed." Multiple people reportedly called the police to report the threatening tweets.

Police found McAnuff's home in downtown L.A. but tracing the activity from is Twitter account. Upon searching the house authorities only found an air rifle, which typically shoot BBs or pellets.  (Via Los Angeles Times

KNBC reports McAnuff's Twitter account has since been taken down and his friends say he was just joking around when he sent out those tweets. But L.A. police didn't find the humor.

"Knowing that someone with an air rifle has the thought of putting this kind of stuff on the Internet without any disregard for public safety — it's a scary thought."

McAnuff is being held in jail on a $50,000 bail.
