Adam FalkA 27-year-old man was arrested early Sunday for driving his car into a California home and killing a resident asleep in his bedroom.
Around 3 a.m., neighbors say they heard screeching tires and a loud boom. That’s when this red Cadillac reportedly crashed through the wall of the Mission Viejo home, stopping in the victim’s bedroom. (Via KABC)
“They say the driver Kourosh Keshmiri has a suspended license and a long history of driving under the influence.” (Via KNBC)
According to the Orange Country Sheriff's Department, “Keshmiri has a prior misdemeanor DUI conviction in August 2010 and a pending case from June 2013. His current driver’s license is suspended from the pending case in June of this year.”
So he shouldn’t have even been on the road. Both Keshmiri and his passenger were not hurt in the crash. Also, a second man inside the home was unharmed.
The scene, however, does not look good. The vehicle went completely through the exterior of the home, which reportedly sits about 30 feet from the curb. (Via Orange County Register)
And in what KTTV calls a “tragic twist,” the man who died in the bedroom, 60-year-old Ken Jackson, has actually been sober for the last 27 years. His friends called the motorcycle mechanic “Jaws." One said –
"Like Harley riders are, I'd say 95% of them are tough to get to know. But once you get to know them, you know, you find out that they're people and got hearts, too.”
Keshmiri is again facing a DUI charge and may receive additional charges after the investigation is complete for Jackson's death.
