Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg will appear before some members of the European Parliament to face questions about his company's use of personal data.

spokesperson confirmed Zuckerberg accepted Parliament's invitation. It's not clear when the tech mogul will make the trip to Europe, but the European Parliament's president said in a statement it will be "as soon as possible." He also called it a "step in the right direction towards restoring confidence."

Zuckerberg's reportedly still refusing to appear before the U.K. Parliament, though. Earlier this month, the government there gave Zuckerberg an ultimatum: He could either voluntarily testify before Parliament, or the government would issue an official summons the next time he's in the country.

CNN reports Facebook UK's head of policy told the U.K. committee Monday that Zuckerberg "has no plans to meet with the committee or travel to the UK" at the moment.
