One person is dead and two others injured after a shooting at a high school in Maryland.
According to local media, the shooting took place at Great Mills High School in St. Mary's County Tuesday morning.
Police told reporters a male student is in stable condition and a female student is in critical condition. The shooter is dead.
Authorities say the shooter exchanged gunfire with a school resource officer on campus. The officer wasn't injured.
St. Mary's County Public Schools confirmed on its website that the school was on lockdown and the situation has been contained.
