After days of deadly protests, Nicaragua's president has decided to scrap major changes to the country's social security system.
President Daniel Ortega announced the decision during a televised address Sunday.
The controversial reform package was meant to beef up Nicaragua's social security system by increasing worker contributions and lowering pensions.
But the plan sparked violent protests across the country. Human rights groups say at least 25 people have been killed in the clashes.
