Many celebrities have taken a stand against Boko Haram's kidnapping of more than 200 schoolgirls in April, but one Nigerian singer is taking it a step further. Pop singer Adokiye says she's willing to trade her virginity for the release of the girls.

She told Nigeria's Vanguard"[The girls] are too young. I wish I could offer myself in exchange. ... Even if 10 to 12 men have to take me every night, I don't care. Just release these girls and let them go back to their parents."

She's not the first famous face to push for the girls' release, but she's definitely made the most creative pitch. So far, all efforts to free the girls have failed. (Via BBC)

Boko Haram is believed to have recently abducted more than 60 women and girls from Nigerian villages. There are also conflicting reports the militant Islamist group might have abducted or killed more than 30 men and boys. (Via CNN)

The singer's offer wasn't taken seriously by most reporters and commenters. Many of them say she's just trying to get attention. (Via Twitter)

And to be fair, she's played the virginity thing for publicity before. When she first announced she's still a virgin to the same newspaper back in March, she hinted that would change if a man were to buy her mom a private jet. (Via Vanguard)

But as GlobalPost points out, "I mean, it's not like #bringbackourgirls is working."

Wednesday Adokiye took to Facebook to defend herself against claims her offer is a publicity stunt. She wrote: "I Vowed since Day 1 to work tirelessly for Kids who can't Speak For Themselves, Kids with future so bright. The Future Leaders." (Via Facebook / Adokiye Kyrian)

As for the missing women and children, the Nigerian government says it knows where they are but fears Boko Haram will harm them if the military attempts any rescue missions. Some reports say the girls are being sold as brides. (Via The Washington Post)
