Maryanne Trump Barry has died at the age of 86, according to multiple media reports.

The New York Times says the older sister of former President Donald Trump died at her home on the Upper East Side of Manhattan on Monday.

There were no signs of trauma or foul play, ABC News reported. A source told the network that emergency crews responded to a call about a person in cardiac arrest. However, her official cause of death has not been revealed.

Trump Barry was a federal judge in New Jersey, appointed by President Ronald Reagan. She was elevated to the Court of Appeals in 1999. Trump Barry announced her retirement in 2019.

As of Monday morning, the former president had not commented on his sister's death.

The New York Times reports that the two had a strained relationship. In an audio recording that was released as their niece was promoting a book, Trump Barry was recorded being critical of her brother's presidency.

“All he wants to do is appeal to his base,” Trump Barry said in a conversation secretly recorded by her niece Mary L. Trump, first reported by The Washington Post. “He has no principles. None. None. And his base, I mean my God, if you were a religious person, you want to help people. Not do this.”

Since the conversation was made public, ABC News reports that the two had attempted to repair their relationship. They reportedly saw each other as recently as this summer.
