San Francisco is throwing out thousands of old marijuana convictions dating back to 1975.

The San Francisco district attorney's office said it will dismiss over 3,000 misdemeanors from before California legalized weed and that it'll look at and consider reducing or reversing thousands of felony convictions.

The office is retroactively applying Proposition 64, which legalized the possession and recreational use of marijuana for adults over 21.

People eligible for wiping their records don't have to do anything. The DA's office will wipe out the convictions on its own.
