The Senate passed a $19 billion disaster aid package Thursday. But it doesn't include the additional border funding President Donald Trump wanted.

After months of negotiations to reach an agreement, the Senate passed the relief bill by a vote of 85-8. The package is designed to help those affected by wildfires, hurricanes, earthquakes and flooding in parts of the U.S.

The package also includes $900 million for Puerto Rico, which is still dealing with the aftermath from Hurricane Maria. President Trump has objected to giving the U.S. territory any more money because he believes it would misspend the money.

Since the Senate passed the bill, it now has to go back to the House for another vote before reaching the president's desk. President Trump is expected to sign it.

The House has already left for a one-week recess, but they could pass it through a voice vote Friday. Politico reports House Republicans could reject the unanimous consent request, pushing back the vote.
