To be a politician, you might have to be good at ducking tough questions. But if you're Hillary Clinton, you apparently have to be good at ducking flying shoes, too.

Hillary Clinton: “Recycling about … What was that, a bat?”

The shoe was reportedly thrown by a woman in the crowd who was then escorted from the Mandalay Bay Casino Resort in Las Vegas, where the speech was taking place. (Via ABC)

The Las Vegas Sun reportedly talked to the woman after she was escorted out. It reports she declined to give her name but said she "dropped" some papers after throwing the shoe. Convention organizers reportedly told the Sun police would be called.

Clinton was reportedly in good spirits after the incident and cracked a few jokes. “My goodness, I didn’t know solid waste management was so controversial.” (Via CNN)

Now, perhaps the reason Hillary was able to handle it so smoothly is because it’s happened before.

As the Daily Mail reports, the former Secretary of State’s motorcade was pelted with shoes and tomatoes as she traveled through Alexandria, Egypt, in 2012. Protesters also reportedly shouted “Monica!” Ouch.

And she may have taken a few tips from this guy.

Clinton was speaking to the Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries. Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak was also slated to speak. No reports of shoes being tossed at him yet.
