Harper Lee, the Pulitzer Prize winning author of "To Kill A Mockingbird," has died. She was 89 years old.
Prior to writing her best selling novel, the Monroeville, Alabama, native graduated from the University of Alabama and then worked as an airline reservations clerk in New York.
She released "To Kill a Mockingbird" in 1960 and won the Pulitzer Prize for fiction the next year.
Lee didn't publish another book until 2015, when she released "Go Set a Watchman," a follow up to "Mockingbird." It became the fastest-selling book ever for publishing house HarperCollins.
Lee spent the final years of her life in a nursing home in Monroeville, which the town of Maycomb in "Mockingbird" was based on.
