Khizr Khan, the Gold Star father best known for his fierce criticism of Donald Trump during the presidential race, is apparently having trouble leaving the country.

Khan was scheduled to speak about Trump's election victory on March 7 in Toronto. But the event organizer now says the speech has been canceled after Khan "was notified that his travel privileges are being reviewed."

As a U.S. citizen of Pakistani origin, Khan wouldn't fall under the purview of either of President Trump's recent executive orders on immigration.

Khan said in a statement he hasn't been told why he's facing this review. But he said it was "not just of deep concern to me but to all my fellow Americans who cherish our freedom to travel abroad."

Khan was scheduled to talk about "tolerance, understanding, unity and the rule of law." Tickets for the event, which started at $100, are being fully refunded.
