Trump Ends Commission Tasked With Finding All Those Illegal Voters

The White House still stands by its position that there is "substantial evidence of voter fraud" in the 2016 presidential election.

With the stroke of a pen, President Donald Trump disbanded his Presidential Advisory Commission on Election Integrity.

Trump issued an executive order decommissioning the group he had previously charged with looking into the 2016 election. Trump has repeatedly and falsely claimed that millions of illegal voters cost him the popular vote.

In a statement, the White House maintained its position that there is "substantial evidence of voter fraud" but said the commission can't move forward because "many states have refused" to hand over rolls of voter data.

The commission had asked every state to turn over information, including voter's addresses, partial Social Security numbers, political affiliation and voting history. But more than half of the union either flatly denied the request or only agreed to share information that was already public.

Even Kansas, home of the commission head Kris Kobach, wouldn't agree to share Social Security information with the commission. That announcement had to come from Kobach himself, who is the secretary of state in Kansas.
