A Fox News reporter says President Donald Trump told her he'd consider pardoning Paul Manafort.
A jury found the president's former campaign chairman guilty of eight counts of bank and tax fraud earlier this week.
In a Wednesday tweet, President Trump called Manafort a "brave man" and said he felt "very badly for Paul Manafort and his wonderful family."
But Republicans in the Senate are warning the president against issuing Manafort a pardon.
"A pardon in this circumstance, would be perceived by many Americans as, you know, interfering with an investigation," Sen. Lindsey Graham told reporters.
Sen. Susan Collins said issuing a pardon "would be an enormous mistake." And Sen. Bob Corker warned a pardon "would be very damaging to the presidency and to his position as president."
