Two American security officers were found dead on the Maersk Alabama container ship - also known as the "Captain Phillips" ship.

It's the same ship Hollywood filmmakers used in the movie “Captain Phillips.” The story was based on a pirate hijacking off the coast of Somalia in 2009.

Police in the Seychelles confirmed the discovery of the bodies Wednesday. Fox News is reporting both men were former Navy SEALS.

"A source telling Fox News the bodies of the two men were discovered yesterday, a day after the ship docked in the Seychelles Ocean.  The shipping company declining to comment due to an ongoing investigation." (Via Fox News)

According to police, the deceased were part of a 24-member crew who arrived Sunday. The ship was slated to leave Tuesday.

CNN reports the U.S. Coast Guard is currently investigating the incident.  It spoke with Senior Chief Petty Officer Daniel Tremper.

"We are monitoring the report involving the two citizens and we offer our condolences to the two families. An investigator from Coast Guard Activities Europe is engaged in a Coast Guard investigation but due to the nature of the investigation that will be about all that we can provide right now." (Via CNN)
