The United Nations Security Council has approved a resolution demanding a 30-day cease-fire in Syria "without delay."
The vote had been delayed a number of times as members tried to find a plan Russia, an ally of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, would accept.
The U.K.-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights says more than 500 civilians have been killed in a week of intense bombing in Ghouta, Syria, which began last Sunday.
