Wambach has 184 goals in 254 international matches — the most of any men's or women's player. She's a six-time U.S. soccer athlete of the year, 2011 Associated Press female athlete of the year, 2012 FIFA world player of the year, 2004 and 2012 gold medalist and a 2015 World Cup winner.

Wambach retires as one of the greatest international women's soccer player's ever.

"We just got to believe," Wambach said before the 2015 World Cup. "That's a wrap, for me."
