Pro-Brexit Campaign Leaders Accused Of Breaking UK Spending Laws

Two top advisers for British Prime MInister Theresa May stand accused of bypassing laws to avoid campaign spending limits during the Brexit campaign. 

Shahmir Sanni, a former employee of the Vote Leave campaign, told the Electoral Commission the advisers funneled over $900,000 through a puppet organization linked to Cambridge Analytica. That data firm was recently accused of mining millions of Facebook users' data to influence the 2016 U.S. presidential election. 

Sanni also told The New York Times and The Observer that the campaign's operations director deleted campaign leaders' names from dozens of files to hide funneling efforts. 

 Campaign Director Dominic Cummings said the accusations were "factually wrong and libelous."
