Forecasters downgraded Willa to a tropical depression Wednesday morning as it continues to move northeast over Mexico.

The storm made landfall along the country's Pacific Coast as a category 3 hurricane Tuesday night.

Willa continues to weaken as it passes over the Sierra Madre mountains — and forecasters think it'll dissipate by Wednesday afternoon.

But the National Hurricane Center warns heavy rainfall from Willa could still bring life-threatening flash floods, mudslides and dangerous rip currents to parts of Mexico.
