Del is a nationally and internationally recognized news anchor, filmmaker, investigative reporter and author. He is currently a national correspondent and anchor for Scripps News, where he hosts the programs “On the Scene” and “Happening Now in America.” Based in Washington, D.C., he focuses on political reporting and investigations.

Earlier in his career, Del reported and anchored at local stations including WTRF in Wheeling, West Virginia; WRAL in Raleigh, North Carolina; and WDAF-TV in Kansas City, Missouri. He has also held positions with Al Jazeera America, the Black News Channel and Newsy, the predecessor to Scripps News.

An award-winning investigative journalist, Del is the recipient of 22 News Emmy Awards and dozens of other awards. His film “NSSM 200” detailed the role of the CIA in the collapse of Africa and premiered at the Cannes International Film Festival. His investigation into the massacre of 11 black soldiers in Wereth, Belgium resulted in each soldier receiving posthumous recognition and a memorial now stands on the site of the massacre.

Del is most proud of his work away from TV. His non-profit the African Friendship Exchange, recognized by Scripps News for its Burleigh Award, collected and distributed 500,000 books for the West African nation of Liberia rebuilding the libraries of approximately 400 schools in that country.
