For all you creative foodies out there, get ready to eat your heart out with the newly invented pastry called the Wonut. That’s right a waffle and a donut combined.

Alex Hernandez, the owner of Waffles Cafe in Chicago, invented the waffle-plus-donut combination and started serving it two months ago. (ViaWaffles Cafe)

The Chicago Tribunereports the Wonut craze went viral after Thrillest.com and BuzzFeedpraised the treat. Since then, people around the world have been clamoring for a Wonut.

The Wonut follows a few other recent waffle trends that have been successful.

But Hernandez says the two are completely different. “They really only resemble each other because of the name combination.” (Via WMAQ)

So other than the similar name, the biggest difference seems to be the price tag. A Wonut will cost you $2.95, while Cronuts costs $5 apiece. (Via Metro, New York Daily News)

Hernandez is even sharing his secrets to make the yummy pastry. Thrillist.com takes interested bakers through the entire process from pouring the batter to forming the Wonut.

People are not playing around about getting their Wonuts. Hernandez said one man came all the way from Tennessee and offered him an extra $100 just to put another batch in. Moral of the story: get them while you can.
