Hawaiian officials have released video of that now famous 15-year-old stowaway emerging from the wheel well of a Boeing jetliner.

This video, released by the Hawaii Department of Transportation and posted by Hawaii's KHON, shows Yahya Abdi walking out from the back of the plane on April 20. He appears to be disoriented, eventually walking over to a worker near the plane.

Abdi made headlines last month after authorities discovered the teen wandering around on the tarmac. It was later determined he'd survived a 5 1/2 hour flight from California to Hawaii in the wheel well of the jetliner. (Via KHNL)

The teen was reportedly looking for his mother after he learned she was still alive somewhere in Africa. Abdi's father had maintained the teen's mother was dead, according to KFSN.

And the boy's father spoke with Voice of America, saying Abdi's journey may have been prompted by home sickness. "He was always talking about Africa, where his grandparents still live."

The video serves to add more mystery to the teen's seemingly miraculous journey. One which prompted questions of how the boy could have survived in a low-pressure, subzero environment and concern over airport security.

The San Jose Mercury News reports Abdi was no longer in Hawaii as of Friday. The outlet says the teen was returned to California, where he is "in the care of Santa Clara County Social Services Agency."
