May is Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month. It’s a month to commemorate the rich culture, contributions and history of America's 20 million AAPIs, or Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders.
But how do we celebrate AAPIs every day, not just in May? We'll meet everyday Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders whose identities form the basis of their work: a Chinese American photographer reclaiming Asian American history through the lens of his camera, a Korean American politician breaking barriers in state politics, and a Filipina American restoring her community's history. They are part of what makes Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders not just a number — but 20 million strong.
