A 5.7 magnitude earthquake shook the Salt Lake City area Wednesday, knocking out power for thousands of homes and businesses and causing some damage.
According to Newsy's partners at KSTU, the quake occurred at about 7 a.m. local time. The U.S. Geological Survey reported multiple aftershocks.
Rocky Mountain Power said approximately 73,000 customers initially lost power after the main quake. Footage from the area showed damage to structures, though officials are still investigating the extent. There were no immediate reports of injuries.
The earthquake was the largest recorded in Utah since 1992.
