At least seven people are confirmed dead and seven others injured after a series of reported drive-by shootings near the University of California, Santa Barbara Friday.

It happened in the town of Isla Vista. KSBY reports one of the dead includes the gunman. Two other people are in custody in connection to the shootings.

KEYT was at the scene of one of the shootings Friday night. The station reported there were shootings in multiple locations in Isla Vista. A public information officer warned: "We can't confirm [Isla Vista] is a secure location."

Overall, KNBC notes there were nine different crime scenes in Isla Vista. Police say none of those shootings happened on the UC Santa Barbara campus.

Police say they’re now reviewing a chilling YouTube video from a man who identifies himself as 22-year-old Elliot Rodger. Rodger’s video expresses a severe frustration with women.

"It all has to come to this. Tomorrow is the day of retribution. … I don't know why you girls aren’t attracted to me, but I will punish you all for it." (Via YouTube / Elliot Rodger)

At least one of Rodger’s YouTube videos shows that he drives a BMW. USA Today reports the gunman in Friday’s shootings was driving a black BMW. Police believe the shooter acted alone.

So far, though, police haven’t released a name for any suspect. The Los Angeles Times reports they’re waiting to get a positive identification before doing so.

CNN notes the annual party — known as "Deltopia" — turned violent with at least six police officers injured. A crowd of students allegedly threw bricks, rocks and even bottles at officers.

The gunman's name in this latest incident has not been released. It's also not clear what types of injuries the surviving victims sustained.
