Andrew W.K.'s Political Party Will Always Party Hard — For America

According to its website, the Party Party's mission is to "free the American people from the dysfunction that is our two party system."

If this election season has you a little conflicted on our current two-party system, there may be a new option for you: the Party Party.

"I'm asking for your support to establish a new political party. Not one based on the rhetoric and dogma of the Democratic or Republican party, but one that transcends both," Andrew W.K. said.

Timeout. For those of you who don’t recognize this guy, he's Andrew W.K.— an American singer-songwriter, motivational speaker, music producer and partier ... hence the name “the Party Party.”

The musician claims he's spent months listening to voters and crafting his "all inclusive" platform.

“I’ve already filed the relevant paperwork with the secretary of state, and now I just need a few more signatures to get this over the line,” Andrew said.

What line is he talking about? We did some digging to find out and see what it takes to actually create a political party.

The rules differ from state to state. In California, for example, one way to create a party is to collect signatures from a lot of registered voters.

According to the Party Party's website, those signatures are in the bag. And this isn't the first time the party's leader has entered the political arena. He apparently was all set to be a cultural ambassador to Bahrain in 2012 ... until the U.S. Department of State canceled the trip.

As to whether this political venture will pan out or if this is anything more than an incredible April Fools' Day joke — time will tell.
