Actress Misty Upham, who is best known for her role as the housekeeper in "August: Osage County" has been missing for about a week according to family members.

Upham was last seen leaving the apartment she shares with her parents in Auburn, Washington on October 5th and has not been heard from since. Family members say she is mentally ill and they are worried for her safety. (Video via People

Upham's father told The Hollywood Reporter"she had recently changed her medication, so she was sort of having erratic behavior" when she went missing.

Police say they responded to a "suicidal call" at Upham's home the day of her disappearance, but when they arrived she had already packed up some of her things and left.

People reports Upham's father tried to get her listed as a missing person the next day, but because her disappearance was not "unexplainable, involuntary or suspicious" she did not qualify under Washington state law.

Upham's family posted on her Facebook page Sunday. It said, "It is only her family searching right now ... We are asking for help from people who live in the area to search ... remember law enforcement is not looking for her."

But, Indian Country Today confirmed with police Friday that she is now considered a missing person.

Upham had recently finished filming the movie "Cake," which stars Jennifer Aniston.
