Multiple Deaths After Plane Crashes Into Mass. Home

Authorities say multiple people are dead after a plane crashed into a home in Plainville, Massachusetts.

Officials say multiple people are dead after a plane crashed into a home in Plainville, Massachusetts Sunday. 

The home was engulfed in flames following the crash. The Federal Aviation Administration said three people were on board the plane. 

WHDH reporter Susan Tran tweeted that neighbors say the family who lives in the home is safe. There is no word yet on exactly how many people were killed, but the outlet cites firefighters who say there have been "multiple fatalities."

The FAA says the plane took off from Lancaster Airport in Pennsylvania and was on its way to Norwood Memorial Airport in Massachusetts. There is no word yet on what caused the crash. 

Multiple local fire departments were dispatched to the area, and both the National Transportation Safety Board and state police are investigating the incident. Homicide detectives have reportedly been sent to the scene.
