The man accused of driving through a crowd of people protesting a "Unite the Right" rally in Charlottesville, Virginia, last year is heading to trial.
Jury selection for James Alex Fields Jr.'s trial began Monday and will reportedly last two or three days.
He's facing several charges stemming from the deadly incident, including first-degree murder and multiple counts of malicious wounding.
Prosecutors say Fields intentionally slammed his car into demonstrators who were protesting a rally by white supremacists, nationalists and members of the so-called "alt-right."
Thirty-two-year-old Heather Heyer was killed and dozens of others were injured.
If he's convicted, Fields could be sentenced to life behind bars. He's currently being held without bail.
