The man who shot and killed an Indian man and wounded two others at a bar in Olathe, Kansas, last February has pleaded guilty.

Adam Purinton's charges include one count of first-degree murder and two counts of attempted first-degree murder.

Purinton has also been charged with a hate crime in federal court after authorities said he targeted the men he shot because of their race. Local media outlets reported last year at least one witness heard the shooter yell, "Get out of my country," before opening fire.

statement Tuesday from the local district attorney's office said Purinton will receive the maximum sentence for the murder charges. His sentencing is scheduled for May 4.
