Nashville Mayor Megan Barry is stepping down after pleading guilty to felony theft over $10,000 in relation to an affair with the head of her security detail.

Barry admitted earlier this year to a two-year affair with police Sgt. Robert Forrest.

In her plea deal, Barry agreed to reimburse the city $11,000 and complete three years of unsupervised probation.

Forrest also stepped down, pleaded guilty to criminal theft and agreed to repay the city $45,000.
