The Los Angeles Police Department says the shooting that injured two students at a middle school Thursday morning was an accident.
Police haven't released any information about how the shooting happened. One student told KNBC in Los Angeles that the gun went off when a student dropped her bag.
Two 15-year-olds were hit, one of them was taken to the hospital in critical condition. Three more people were injured. At least four of those injured — including the one in the ICU — are expected to make a full recovery.
The 12-year-old suspect has been booked on a gun charge.
