Prosecutors filed criminal charges Wednesday morning against the man suspected of driving drunk and causing a crash that killed Indianapolis Colts player Edwin Jackson and his driver, Jeffrey Monroe.

Manuel Orrego-Zavala faces two counts of causing death while driving with a blood alcohol content of 0.15 or more and two counts of leaving the scene of an accident.

The crash happened early Sunday. Indiana State Police say Orrego-Zavala is in the U.S. illegally and has been deported twice before — once in 2007 and again in 2009.

Because of this, he also faces federal immigration charges for illegal re-entry after previously being deported.

On Tuesday, prosecutors in a different Indiana county announced while using a different name in 2017, Orrego-Zavala was charged with and pleaded guilty to driving without receiving a license.

President Donald Trump tweeted about Jackson's death Tuesday, calling for tougher immigration standards and border security. But Jackson's roommate told CBS the linebacker wouldn't have wanted his death politicized.
