At least two dozen high school students were injured as a stage collapsed right underneath them during a performance Saturday night.
KNBC reports more than 200 students were performing at Servite High School in Anaheim, California when the stage collapsed.
In all, between 30 and 40 students had fallen through the stage. KCAL notes so many students were hurt, local firefighters responding to the scene had to set up a triage at the high school.
KABC adds several of those students suffered broken bones in the stage collapse, but nothing life-threatening. Others sustained injuries including scrapes and bruises.
The Orange County Register reports the students performing Saturday night were taking part in an annual musical performance they spend six weeks preparing for.
The students performing were from Servite's sister school, Rosary High School. The principal said in a statement Saturday: "Thank you for your prayers and support during this time. We ask that you continue to pray for our students."
The statement also says Servite's campus and auditorium are closed Sunday. So far, the cause of the collapse hasn't been determined.
