The bill is set to be introduced Tuesday.

A new bill would ban ICE from arresting undocumented immigrants who offer to take in detained undocumented children.

The bipartisan Prevent CHILD Harm Act of 2018 is set to be introduced Tuesday.

A report by CNN revealed dozens of undocumented immigrants who came forward to take in detained children from July to September, were arrested by ICE. Seventy percent of the arrests were based solely on the potential caretaker's immigration status.

The new bill would prevent the Department of Homeland Security from using information provided by a potential child sponsor to arrest or deport an undocumented immigrant.

It would also ban immigration officials from refusing to release a child from custody based on the sponsor's immigration status.
