We approached fathers and asked, "What's the hardest part about being a dad?" Here's what they had to say:
"Hardest part is being a good influence for him, teaching him good things, bad things, making sure they understand."
"Making enough time out of all the other stuff you've got to do to get your work done and take care of all that other stuff just so that you can spend time with your kids."
"Nothing, nothing. ... No struggles."
"I don't know, maybe letting go of them. At some point they leave the nest, and you miss them."
"It's a million times harder, but it's a hundred thousand times more rewarding than anybody would ever tell me it would've been."
"You're never ready to get it all right. You're always going to make some mistakes."
Then we asked, "What's the most rewarding part about being a dad?" They said:
"Just the love. That's it. It's awesome."
"You can't imagine living without them."
"Your kids give a lot. No matter what you give to them, they just give you a lot more back."
"Seeing how they're just growing up to be great spirits."
"The smile. Just when they look up to you and they just say 'daddy.' When they just smile and you see that beauty on their face and … they're never going to smile at anybody else the way they smile at you."
